The little tern is a partial resident and summer migratory bird species. It has a thin body, a pointy black bill, and orange-yellow feet. The little tern also has white feathers on its forehead, as well as long narrow wings and a long tail. These birds prefer broad gravel beaches or stable sand dunes and beaches to build their nests.
